Finding Support: Join Our “Tea & Talk” Sessions at Brightest Star
In the days following Jack’s death, I felt an overwhelming need to connect with someone who understood the profound pain of losing a child. Despite my efforts to find support online and through various helplines, I struggled to find adequate resources for bereaved parents in Scotland.
Recognising this gap, Brightest Star has been dedicated to providing a safe space for parents since October 2013. Our monthly support group meetings, known as “Tea & Talk,” take place in Glasgow and offer a compassionate environment for parents who have experienced the loss of a child.

What is “Tea & Talk”?
“Tea & Talk” is an informal gathering where parents can share their stories, discuss their grief, and remember their children. There is no pressure to speak; whether your loss is recent or occurred years ago, regardless of your child’s age or the circumstances of their passing, every bereaved parent is welcome at Brightest Star.
Many parents who have attended our sessions have found the experience to be incredibly beneficial, providing comfort and understanding during a challenging time.
