We're Still Here to Help: COVID-19 Update
As I read people complain about being at home with their children, I cannot help but think of those nurses in our hospitals who are currently sitting with families as they say their final goodbyes to their children. I can also only think about those nurses who are working 24/7 to help us, desperate to see their children and who are no doubt terrified that they could pass this horrendous virus onto their own children and families.
Yet, people complain they have to spend time with their children? From a mother who has lost her son, it just leaves me speechless and almost angry as this set of our Brightest Star memory boxes went to our Glasgow Sick Kids hospital tonight.
Yes Covid19 is not killing our children but so many other viruses, Cancers, sepsis and accidents are. It doesn’t matter what age you are, 5,15,50,65 your child is always your child and Covid19 is still killing peoples older children all over the world.
These are unprecedented times and we know the anxiety this will be causing everyone, especially our bereaved families. We took the difficult decision last week, guided by government guidelines, to close our charity office and have our counsellors work from home.
Our Counselling is still available through FaceTime and I cannot thank Yvonne and Janice enough for making this service possible and it’s a lifeline to our families.
Our parent support meetings are cancelled until further notice. If you would like me to create closed Facebook groups where you can talk to other bereaved parents/grandparents/siblings please comment below.
Our memory boxes will still be available in hospitals.
Our first aid courses can be done online with Iain our amazing first aider at IM training.

Scary times are ahead, nobody knows what the future holds so at this time, I would like to thank each and everyone of you who has supported us since Feb 2013, without your support and donations throughout the years, we would not have been able to achieve everything we have so far and we would not be in a financial position to carry on just now, when people need our help more than ever.
Thank you for everything.
I am thinking of you all and wishing you health and hope in these scary times.
